Pet Urine on Carpet
|
If the cat has recently urinated on the carpet, you can use the following homemade pet urine removal. Keep in mind to repeat the below process a few times for heavily soiled areas. | ||
The treatmentAbsorb as much as you can the pet urine using paper towels or an old towel. Place clean paper towels over the pet urine area in order to absorb as much of the urine as possible. Repeat with dry towels until no more moisture can be absorbed. Next, deep down a mixed solution of 50% white vinegar and 50% water and allow it to dry (The acidity of the vinegar will neutralize the ammonia in the cat urine and will kill any bacteria). When the surface is dry, drizzle a baking soda (will absorbs the odor) over the affected area. add to the surface a quarter of a cup of hydrogen peroxide mixed with a teaspoon of dishwashing detergent. Using rubber gloves, brush with your fingers the solution in order to work it down the carpet. When the surface is dry, use a vacuum cleaner to clean the surface. |
