Reduce Anal Sac Problems


pet_anal_suck  Anal Sacs (also Called Anal Glands or Scent Sacs), are two small glands just inside your pet anus. They are located at the sides of the anus (five and seven o'clock reference to the anus). The anal glands may become infected and abscess by bacteria. This is very painful and can be seen by an animal that attempts to bite or scratch the area near the tail.       


The treatment

When the glands become impacted, you, or the vet, should clean them out. Empty the glands from all material by applying pressure with the finger below the gland upwards.
